The British royal family is currently at Balmoral Castle on their annual summer vacation, and yesterday, they were spotted heading to Sunday services at Crathie Kirk, the church near the estate. While not much of their outfits could be made out through the car windows, Kate Middleton’s visible jewelry stole the show: She debuted a new pair of chandelier earrings from Lauren Ralph Lauren. The earrings, which are from a past season and no longer available online, are set in gold-tone mixed metal and measure around two and a half inches long.
The Princess of Wales also wore a high neck lace blouse from Holland Cooper and a wool jacket, and accessorized with a hat that is over a decade old. The Princess first debuted the Lock & Co. Hatters headpiece, named the “Betty Boop” hat, back in 2012, and in the years following, it quickly become a staple of her royal wardrobe. Before this weekend, however, Kate had last worn it eight years ago, to Easter Sunday services in Windsor in 2018.
Kate’s Balmoral style remains largely a mystery, as the royals do not typically share any photographs from their private time at the Scottish Highlands estate. The Wales family arrived at the end of last week to Balmoral, just a day after the news broke that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be moving back to the United Kingdom after six years in living in the United States. Kate’s last public appearance came at the start of August, when she and the rest of her family attended the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
