Auckland Airport is seeking New Zealand brands, makers and producers for 11 retail locations across its international terminal as it develops its Gifts of New Zealand portfolio.

The airport is inviting proposals from businesses with the product quality, supply capabilities and ambition to expand through airport retail.

Opportunities include standalone stores and brand-led concepts, alongside partnerships which connect New Zealand producers with experienced retailers.

The initiative forms part of Auckland Airport’s wider investment in its international terminal and aims to showcase a broader range of New Zealand products and brands to the more than 10.4 million international travellers passing through the terminal each year.

Auckland Airport Head of Retail Lucy Thomas said: “New Zealand has an extraordinary depth of creative talent, product innovation and entrepreneurial energy. Our role is to create a platform that gives more of those businesses the visibility, partnerships and access they need to grow.

“This opportunity is about more than filling retail spaces. It’s about building a stronger ecosystem around New Zealand retail, where established brands, emerging makers and experienced operators can come together to create something distinctive at our gateway.”

Auckland Airport is looking for products and experiences across categories including food, skincare, natural fibres, jewellery, art, homewares and contemporary design.

Thomas added: “We want travellers to encounter a richer, more contemporary expression of New Zealand, including brands they already know and love, alongside new products and creators they may be discovering for the first time.

“That creates value on several levels: a better experience for travellers, new growth opportunities for New Zealand businesses, and a stronger retail proposition for Auckland Airport as we continue investing in the future of the international terminal.”

Brands interested in the opportunities have until 18 September 2026 to submit an expression of interest to Auckland Airport’s Commercial Leasing team.
