WILMINGTON — North Carolina artist Bob Ostrom will be showcasing new works at The Gallery at Dreams, located at DREAMS Center for Arts Education, as part of Fourth Friday Gallery Nights.
Ostrom’s “Wooden That Be Fun?” will be on display, showing a colorful, playful gallery including larger-than-life mermaids and whimsical sea creatures painted in acrylic gouache on plywood. He will be available for a meet-and-greet from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m at DREAMS Center for Arts Education, 901 Fanning St.
Ostrom is an artist, illustrator, and designer whose career has involved advertising, branding, cartooning, and children’s publishing. He claims to showcase “Pop-Art, Cartoontistic-Illustrationism.”
The Gallery at Dreams is part of the effort to cultivate an art ecosystem within the organization. DREAMS creates opportunities for artists to convey their skills and talents at a zero-commission gallery, meaning 100% of proceeds from artwork sales go directly to the artist. Artists at any stage of their career are welcomed to use that space to showcase their artwork.
