With the Nasal Adrenaline spray becoming available today in Ireland, a Mayo man who created an ‘Emergency Anaphylaxis Plus Kit’ says the medication will be accommodated in his medical cabinets.
Hollymount’s Darren Forde, the founder of Eco Powered Cabinets, created the life-saving kit which was launched earlier this year in Castlebar.
The Nasal Adrenaline spray provides an alternative needle-free emergency treatment for severe allergic reactions and anaphylaxis, by spraying the dose up one nostril.
Mr. Forde says EPC were contacted earlier this year by the manufacturer regarding the medication’s launch in Ireland. The company then modified their anaphylaxis unit to store this new life-saving medication.
The unit, named the EMK, is named in memory of Emma, Michael and Kathleen who lost their lives due to an allergic reaction.
The EMK s manufactured in Collins Plastics Ballina and is patent pending.
