News of a new date may not come as a surprise to New Zealand punters, with Mars having a history of selling out Kiwi venues.
The Grenade hitmaker previously sold out four nights at Auckland’s Spark Arena in 2018, and The Romantic tour delivered the largest single-day ticket sales for promoter Live Nation across North America, Europe, and the United Kingdom.
It also set a new Ticketmaster record, with 2.1 million tickets sold in a single day.
And if two New Zealand shows aren’t enough, there are plenty of available dates for Mars to perform again at Eden Park. The tour doesn’t move on to Asia until April, and Eden Park’s new resource consent means up to 12 large-scale concerts (30,000+) per year can be held at the venue.
The two concerts are part of the Government’s $40 million one-off Events Attraction Package, with Tourism and Hospitality Minister Louise Upston previously saying concerts of such scale attracted visitors and provided “a welcome economic boost” for businesses and communities.
“Alongside an incredible live music experience, these concerts help showcase New Zealand as a vibrant destination capable of hosting world-class events,” she said.

British band Coldplay remains the most notable act to sell out Eden Park, with three sold-out nights of about 57,000 people per concert in November 2024 as part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour.
Mars is one of the best-selling music artists, selling more than 236 million records during his nearly two-decade career.
His recent Las Vegas residency at the Park MGM hotel was estimated to have brought in millions of dollars per show.
Silk Sonic, his musical project with Anderson .Paak, also scored hit singles with Leave The Door Open and Skate.
ZM nights host Brooke Koppens, who reviewed the Romantic Tour in New Jersey, described the show as “electric”, adding that Mars’ showmanship had something special in store for everyone.
“The production felt like Mars and The Hooligans have their pyrotechnics permanently connected to their hips and hit every single spark,” she said.
Bruno Mars will play Eden Park on March 13 and 14. Presale tickets for the new show are available now to those who have pre-registered. Remaining tickets go on sale Friday via Ticketmaster.
