Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) was left regretting crossing Idris Nazir (Junade Khan) in Wednesday’s (2 September 2026) Coronation Street.

Earlier in the week, Ronnie was forced to take action after getting ruthless Fiona Morley (Sara Poyzer) off stepson Carl Webster’s (Jonathan Howard) back, as she claimed he owed her.

Ronnie stole Idris’s car, and was left on edge even after apparently appeasing Fiona.

At Speed Daal, Idris pondered where he had lost his car keys as he tried to report the vehicle stolen. Then he got a text from Fiona declaring that she now considered them ‘even’ after her huge loss at his recent poker game.

Hearing from witness Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) that Ronnie was involved, Idris paid him a visit and punched him to the floor, just as Carl arrived home.

As Ronnie reeled, Idris laughed his way out the door, while Ronnie’s wife Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) walked in and questioned her husband about his injury.

Ronnie lied that it was an accident, but vowed to Carl that he would get payback on Idris – though Carl warned Ronnie to leave it be.

Minutes later, Debbie – who lives with dementia – repeated her question about Ronnie’s face, having forgotten she’d already asked.

Later, Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) approached Debbie outside and told her all about Idris’s car.

Debbie confronted Ronnie, and fumed at his reckless behaviour. He came clean about his reasons, and she made it clear that he had better not lie to her again.

When Ronnie bumped into Idris, he insisted that, while he was putting their feud on the backburner due to Debbie’s illness, this wasn’t over.

What will Idris do next?
