Céline Dion is just days away from one of the most emotional comebacks of her career, and her latest appearance in Paris is adding even more anticipation to the moment.
The 58-year-old singer stepped out of the Royal Monceau hotel on September 9 while heading to rehearsals, smiling and waving to fans gathered outside. Dion even made a heart with her hands before getting into her car, appearing upbeat as the countdown to her return continues.
Céline Dion’s dramatic Paris look gets attention
Dion also made the outing a fashion moment. She wore a charcoal gray midi dress with structured shoulders, oversized sleeves and dramatic draping through the skirt, giving the look an architectural feel.
She paired the dress with long brown leather gloves and matching knee-high boots, oversized dark sunglasses and a black clutch. Her hair was swept back, keeping the focus on the unusually bold silhouette.
The appearance comes as Dion spends her final days rehearsing in Paris ahead of her return to the concert stage. She began rehearsals at the venue earlier this month and has been working intensively with musicians as opening night approaches.
One wrong move, Celine Dion would’ve been on the ground thanks to her bodyguard. I seriously don’t know why she had to climb the edge of her car door just to greet fans. pic.twitter.com/vjBnbzQkEG

Her children are there for the big moment
Dion has not been going through the comeback alone. Her sons René-Charles Angélil and twins Nelson and Eddy have also been in Paris supporting their mother as she prepares for the shows.
Their presence carries extra meaning after several difficult years for the singer. Dion revealed in 2022 that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that affected her ability to perform and eventually forced her to cancel the remaining dates of her Courage World Tour.
She later made a major return to the public eye during the 2024 Paris Olympics, performing “Hymne à l’amour” from the Eiffel Tower. But the upcoming Paris dates represent something different: a sustained return to live concerts rather than a single special performance.
Céline Dion’s comeback is finally here
Dion’s new Paris run begins September 12. Demand has been massive, with the initial concerts selling out and additional performances added as interest surged.
For fans who have waited years to see Dion regularly performing again, the images outside her Paris hotel offered an encouraging preview. The dramatic outfit may have grabbed the attention, but the bigger story was the smile, the rehearsals and the fact that Céline Dion is finally preparing to walk back onto a concert stage.
