Kostecki qualified fifth in the preceding session with a 1:16.4106s and improved his personal-best with a 1:16.3756s in the shootout.
The driver of the Dick Johnson Racing Ford Mustang was the only one to improve session-on-session.
Kostecki and Hazelwood will start alongside Matt Payne and Will Davison in the Grove Racing Ford Mustang.
“Super excited. I just want to thank everyone at the Shell V-Power Racing Team. This #17 Ford Mustang was on song then,” said Kostecki.
“Big thank you to everyone that’s here supporting us and also back home at the workshop. What an awesome way to start our enduro campaign.
“I’ve got the best co-driver with me and really excited to get stuck into the race tomorrow.
“Honestly, I just feel so privileged to be driving for this team. They give me such great equipment and allow me to do my job, which is fantastic.
“It feels like a bit of a dream at the moment when everything is going smoothly, but we’ve got to knuckle down and focus on ourselves.
“We’ve been ticking each day off as we always do come enduro time. I’m pretty proud of the effort so far and hopefully we have a good race car tomorrow.”
Ford locked out the first two rows with Tickford Racing teammates Cameron Waters (with Mark Winterbottom) and Thomas Randle (with Reuben Goodall) third and fourth respectively.
Provisional pole sitter Anton De Pasquale was only fifth fastest, lamenting a lack of grip.
The Top 10 Shootout was completed by Kai Allen, Broc Feeney, Zach Bates, Jobe Stewart and Jayden Ojeda.
The Bend 500 gets underway at 1:45pm ACST on Sunday.
