Its #7 James Golding/Richie Stanaway entry took the chequered flag in seventh place following a race in which the Kiwi had shone in wet conditions.
Stanaway was so fast that the team elected to keep him in the car for 91 laps of the scheduled 147 laps.
The fact the race went time certain at the end of 141 laps meant Golding did not complete his required 54 lap minimum.
BRT’s misery is set to be compounded by the fact the #3 Aaron Cameron/Zak Best entry, which finished 25th after a series of incidents, had a similar fate.
Cameron fell just shy of the 54 lap minimum courtesy of Best’s long run in the car and the fact it only made 137 laps due to time spent in the garage fixing damage.
The disqualifications are yet to be confirmed by officials, but appear certain due to the regulations.
Such a result would prove disastrous for Golding, who currently sits 10th in the championship with one round remaining ahead of the Finals Series cut-off.
