A person has died after a car and a freight train collided near Invercargill.
One person has died after a freight train hit a car near Invercargill.
Police said the crash happened about 1.20pm near the intersection of East Rd (State Highway 1) and Mill Rd South.
The sole occupant of the car died at the scene, Acting Area Commander Inspector Stu Harvey
said.
