Tiaki Wai is warning that wastewater is being discharged into Lower Hutt’s Waiwhetū Stream.

The organisation, which replaced Wellington Water in July, said high rainfall caused the plant in the suburb of Seaview to overflow.

It said the wastewater has been fully treated, but may cause the water
to appear cloudy or murky, and have some odour.
