ESA has just released the Gaia mission's third stellar catalogue
ESA has just released the Gaia mission’s third stellar catalogue. By providing even more precise measurements of the distances, motions, and spectra of stars in the Milky Way, it sheds new light on the galaxy’s history, its exoplanet population, and the exact shape of the Sun’s orbit around the galactic center. This orbit now reveals the motion of the Sun and its planets relative to more than a million quasars located billions of light-years away. © ESA
