The welcome was organised by Team Bloom New Zealand, BINI’s official local fanbase.
“What started as an idea became our biggest project yet,” the fan group wrote on X. “Two cultures. One unforgettable welcome!”
The welcome was performed by Kaihaka Collective, a kapa haka group dedicated to preserving and revitalising customary Māori practices.
“It was a great pleasure for Kaihaka Kapa Haka to welcome BINI. To give that sense of connection and belonging with a Haka Pōwhiri or customary Māori welcome,” the group wrote on Facebook.
“Welcome to Aotearoa BINI. Nau mai, haere mai!”
Several fans gathered at the airport to greet the group, with clips showing the members being presented with garlands.
BINI were also pictured exploring Devonport, sharing a series of photos taken at the top of North Head.
One fan urged the members to visit Rotorua, while another said they had spotted them on the North Shore.
Formed through the idol training show Star Hunt Academy in 2019, BINI comprises Aiah, Maloi, Mikha, Jhoanna, Colet, Sheena, Gwen and Stacey.
They became the first Filipino act to win Best Asia Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2024 and the first Filipino group to perform at Coachella.
The Auckland concert was the latest stop on their world tour, which also includes dates in Australia, Singapore and Taiwan.
BINI postponed the European leg of the tour because of “unforeseen circumstances” earlier this year.
