Kyle spoke with Bravo Insider in early September about Carl’s progress. He admitted that launching a brick-and-mortar business comes with major challenges. “I think when you start something you don’t really know what you’re getting into,” Kyle said.

The Soft Bar owner opened the New York City venue in 2025. Carl recently celebrated the café’s first anniversary after navigating its demanding first year. Kyle and Carl’s achievement deserved recognition from his longtime friend.

“But the fact that he’s stood it out and made it happen,” Kyle said. He added that Carl successfully celebrated the venue’s one-year anniversary. Kyle also attended the celebration and showed support for Carl.

Kyle acknowledged that entrepreneurship does not always produce lasting businesses. “Anytime one of your friends starts something, you try to be supportive,” he explained. “But sometimes, it doesn’t go.”

The Loverboy founder then highlighted Carl’s persistence throughout the process. “I mean, entrepreneurship is tough,” Kyle said. He also praised Carl for turning the concept into an established business.

“But the fact that he’s got a thriving business and he’s figuring it out,” Kyle continued. He credited Carl for consistently putting in the necessary work. “I’m incredibly happy and proud,” Kyle added.

Kyle also noted that Soft Bar became more than a place selling drinks. Carl created a gathering space that hosted various events and partnerships. “He’s kind of been able to create this little home base,” Kyle said.

Carl celebrated the milestone on Instagram on September 4. He thanked his team, investors, customers, and supporters for helping the business grow. “What started as an idea has become a community I’m incredibly proud of,” Carl wrote.

The milestone also reflected Carl’s evolving Summer House journey. His business received attention during Season 10 of the Bravo series. Kyle’s comments showed his appreciation for Carl’s progress beyond their reality television history.
