Prince William and Princess Catherine have a very subtle change to their social media accounts that you may have missed. The couple’s social media platforms, which include Instagram and X, are typically very active, with their profile pictures featuring professional photos of the two of them.
With the last change made in 2024, the couple have subtly decided to replace it with a more recent snap of them. The previous picture, prior to today, was a picture that symbolised that Catherine had finished her chemotherapy, just a few months after revealing her diagnosis. The image was taken in August 2024 and is a still image from the video filmed by Will Warr in Norfolk.
The new Instagram profile picture shows the couple smiling intently at the camera and was likely taken last month during their visit to the Isle of Bute in Scotland. The couple were visiting Bute Shinty Club and later Ettrick Bay, as well as other community projects.
Catherine, 44, can be seen wearing a brown trench coat over an olive-green jumper, whilst William, also 44, sports earthy green and brown tones. William and Catherine don’t frequently update their profile photos on social media, but sometimes they do switch out their cover picture on X to share news about their work, such as the Prince of Wales’ Earthshot Prize.
The profile picture on X shows them at the State Banquet at Windsor Castle during President Donald Trump‘s State visit last September. This picture hasn’t changed recently.
The couple typically change their social media pictures in November for Remembrance Day, but usually revert to their previous photos after about a week. The couple previously kept a picture of themselves laughing during a trip to Ireland in 2020.
Like William and Catherine, King Charles and Queen Camilla have previously swapped their chosen profile picture. The couple currently have a picture of themselves from the King’s 2023 coronation on their profiles, which has been there since last year.
The Prince and Princess of Wales’s current X header picture shows them with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The picture is also a still from their video filmed by Will Warr in Norfolk in 2024.
The couple have recently attended an engagement at AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium in Leeds. The couple, joined by Jamie Jones Buchanan, the CEO of the Leeds Rhinos, paid a visit to the home of the Leeds Rhinos rugby league team.
