Police said the Serious Crash Unit attended.
The road has been closed but is expected to open shortly.
A witness passing the crash scene told NZME that Te Atatū Rd was blocked at the intersection after a vehicle carrying two young women collided with multiple election signs and a tree.
They said firefighters assisted one woman from the car and on to a waiting stretcher as police cars and more ambulances rushed down Te Atatū Rd to the crash scene.

“Police eventually moved the cordon further back, blocking Te Atatū Rd from the Z service station, about 400m from the crash site.”
They said the opposite lane remained open for traffic heading out of the peninsula while police investigated the crash.
