Two youths are facing charges after a child was allegedly attacked and kidnapped in an Invercargill park.

Detective Sergeant Mark McCloy said the arrests related to a serious assault of a minor in Queens Park last Friday.

He said both youths have been charged with aggravated robbery, indecent assault, kidnapping
and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

One of the youths also faces a theft charge.

McCloy said further charges were being considered.
