A person has died after firefighters pulled them from a burning duplex in Auckland today.

Police confirmed the death following the fire on High St on Sunday.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand shift manager Josh Pennefather said crews responded to the fire at the single-storey building on High St in
Ōtāhuhu at about 11.45am.

The blaze has been extinguished, and a fire investigator is at the scene, Pennefather said.

Police remain at the scene and said there was no indication at this stage of anything suspicious.
