Meghan Markle appeared to experience an awkward greeting as she met the newly-appointed Balenciaga designer, Pier Paolo Piccioli, at their show in Paris on Saturday. The 44-year-old is currently in Europe for Paris Fashion Week, with her thought to be heading back to the US later today.

A video, which was posted by @saintleon on TikTok, showed Meghan going in for a kiss on the cheek to congratulate Piccioli on his Spring/Summer 2026 womenswear design – but instead she appeared to hit her nose on his sunglasses. As the cameras were on them, the designer appeared ton laugh off the incident before grabbing Meghan’s hand to get a picture taken together. After thanking the designer, Meghan then finshed off the encounter with a brief hug.

Appearing in her element, a spokesperson for Meghan said that she admired Piccioli’s “craftsmanship and modern elegance”.

The mum-of-two was also seen greeting Vogue’s global editorial director Anna Wintour and Australian film director Baz Luhrmann.

Dressed for the occasion, Meghan was spotted sporting a white oversized cape and white button-down shirt with matching trousers.

She paired her look with black pointed-toe heels and simple accessories, topped off with her hair styled in a sleek, slicked-back bun.

The trip marked Meghan’s first time in Europe since attending the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Germany in 2023.

Taking to her Instagram account, Meghan shared a post of her walking to the event in her white outfit trousers and heels to her 4.2 million followers.

Following the event, she also shared a video of streets of Paris at night from her car window.
