Actor, musician, and multidisciplinary artist Johnny Depp is expanding his creative footprint into the capital with his first major UK exhibition of original artworks, opening today at the Halcyon Gallery.

Opening on October 13, 2026, the exhibition follows Depp’s major international showing, A Bunch of Stuff, at the Modern Art Museum Shanghai. Together, these milestones provide a rare, intimate look into decades of creative output by the lifelong storyteller, spanning paintings, drawings, and collages.

Depp describes his visual art as a natural extension of the same narrative instinct that drives his celebrated work in film and music. Long before his career on the silver screen, drawing was his first love, a way to “escape into a blank piece of paper”. Today, that impulse remains a vital refuge and a way to connect with others.

The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through light and darkness, transitioning from tangled floral blooms to psychological portraits and fantastical figures. Echoing the outsiders, misfits, and enigmatic anti-heroes of his cinematic performances, Depp’s artwork explores the lives of those who exist beyond convention. Portraits of heroes, friends, and muses sit alongside introspective self-portraits and alter egos, blurring the lines between private identity and public persona.

The exhibition features his first sculpture, titled ‘The Bunnyman,’ which was shown at the Turkish art fair Contemporary Istanbul. The sculpture is described as a “half-human, half-rabbit guardian carrying a ‘sword of truth’”. Depp’s son Jack, around five, drew the work, which reminded Depp of his own recurring childhood dream. The figure has since appeared across Depp’s sketches, paintings, and prints.

Paul Green, President and Founder of Halcyon Gallery, praised the artist’s unique vision: “Johnny Depp has always followed his own creative instincts, unconstrained by the boundaries between art, music and film. What draws us to these works is their emotional directness and the strength of his individual vision. We are delighted to welcome him to Halcyon, inviting audiences to look beyond familiar perceptions and encounter his art on its own terms.”

Kate Brown, Vice President and Art Director of Halcyon, echoed this sentiment, describing Depp as a “true Renaissance man” whose works tell a deeply personal visual diary spanning decades.

The exhibition is open October 13 at Halcyon Gallery, 148 New Bond Street, London.
