The Deloitte Fast 50 programme has two main indices. The Fast 50 recognises companies based on revenue growth over three years, while the Master of Growth recognises more mature businesses that have delivered sustained growth over five years.
The regional winners make up the pool of finalists from which the national Fast 50 indices will be compiled. The national rankings and category winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Auckland on November 12.
Deloitte Private partner James Arlidge said this year’s winners covered a broad range of industries.
“What stands out this year is that growth isn’t concentrated in one particular part of the economy. We’re seeing businesses across a wide range of sectors identify opportunities, understand what their customers need and move decisively,” Arlidge said.
Deloitte identified wellbeing as one theme among this year’s entrants, with health, nutrition and lifestyle businesses featuring among the regional winners and contenders for the indices.
Clean energy was another theme, with renewable energy, solar and sustainability-linked businesses represented in the programme.
“These businesses have identified where the opportunity is, built the capability to deliver and backed themselves, even when conditions haven’t necessarily made that easy,” Arlidge said.
The Fast 50 is sponsored by BNZ.
