Starting in Kaikōura, they made it to Hawke’s Bay, travelling through Picton and Wellington thanks to a free Bluebridge ferry ticket.
Both hoped to raise at least $5000 for Movember and Christchurch men’s mental health charity Lads Without Labels.
Field said he’d had a tough time in 2025 and bottled up a lot of his feelings, inspiring the charitable road trip.
Both charities had information and resources beneficial for men of all ages, he said.
“We’re not mental health experts – we’re just two young guys who wanted to use our business and what we have to do something positive.
“If the trip can raise some money, get a few more blokes talking and remind people to check in on their mates, then it’s worth it.”
After Hawke’s Bay, the pair travel to Taupō, then Auckland, where they’re aiming to raise $2000 worth of window cleaning in one day, with all money going to the charities.
From there, they would make their way back to Christchurch.
Field said he’d already put on a couple of kilograms from all the free food from people supporting them in the first 10 days of the trip.
