Ireland’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest hopefuls Naomi Gribben and Caleb Kirwan have flown out from Dublin Airport ahead of next Saturday’s final in Malta.

Caleb (14), from Leopardstown, Co Dublin, and Naomi (13), from Mayobridge, Co Down, are the only duet act competing this year and will represent Ireland with the song Níos Láidre (Stronger).

They will perform 13th in the running order at Ta’ Qali, Attard, next Saturday.

The final will be shown live on TG4 and TG4.ie from 8pm on Saturday, 24 October.

Unlike the senior Eurovision Song Contest, fans can vote for their own country at vote.eurovision.com.

The first voting window opens at 10:59pm Irish time on Friday, 23 October until 7:59pm Irish time on Saturday, 24 October.

Voting will then reopen for 15 minutes after the final song has been performed during the live show.

Of the two young singers, TG4 says: “From a very young age, Caleb has loved performing and finds immense joy in singing, dancing, and acting. A natural entertainer, he thrives on stage and loves connecting with audiences through performance. The stage is where Caleb feels most at home; it is his happy place where he can truly express himself.

“Caleb has been training in singing, dancing, and acting since the age of six and currently studies at Steptacular Performing Arts School in Dublin. Over the years, he has performed a wide range of principal roles, most recently portraying Lumière in Beauty and the Beast, Buttons in Cinderella, Peter in Mary Poppins, and Jamie in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. He is also part of the Elite dance team and recently performed in the Dance World Cup, coming fourth overall in the boys’ hip-hop category.

“Naomi gets her singing talents from her nanny and grandad, a gift she shares with all her cousins. When she’s not singing, Naomi loves ice skating with her friends, acting, and shopping, but only if she can spend her mum’s money.

“Naomi is no stranger to the stage, and it’s where she feels most at home. In fact, in 2025, she was the only singer from Ireland and the UK to make it to the finals of the Tour Music Fest in San Marino. She hopes that there will be more stages for her to sing on in the future. But her main passion is using her singing ability to help others. Last year she busked in her local town, and she gave all the money to support local people living with cancer.”
