Aniplex had teased the announcement with a video on Friday that had featured the letters “NLMT.”
Kai Ikarashi (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2) is directing the anime at the studio Soigne (mono, Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk). Tatsuya Takahashi (Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon, The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls) is in charge of the series scripts, and Shin Ogasawara IPokémon: Twilight Wings) is designing the characters.
The slice-of-life manga centers on the really dumb android Kurumi, her guardian Chiaki who is a little crazy, the calm and collected Sakina who is easily amused, and the only sane(?) one of the bunch, Shiyuki. The manga follows their high school life as they remodel Kurumi and dote on her, and talk about nothing in particular.
Kokamumo launched the four-panel manga in Houbunsha‘s Manga Time Kirara Max magazine in March 2020. Houbunsha published the sixth compiled volume on January 27.
