Hilary Duff’s Auckland support act panned for being too raunchy for young audience

  • October 21, 2026

One disappointed concertgoer shared a clip of the crowd’s reaction to the set.

The Herald has reached out to Monoga.my and Live Nation for comment.

One woman described two dancers on stage “dry-humping their way through the performance”.

“I’m honestly surprised they didn’t start scissoring in front of the entire audience.”

Another said the performance was “so embarrassing”.

“There are kids here … should of rather just played background music. [sic] This performance is shocking.”

“What were you guys thinking,” wrote another.

Clips on TikTok show dancers in matching lace-trimmed dresses on either side of the decks.

The dance pop selector seemed unfazed by the controversy, sharing several videos of much more appreciative show attendees on their own social media.

“At Hillary Duff and the warmup was slay,” one captioned a clip.

“@monoga.my absolutely eating,” another said.

It’s the latest issue to strike concerts in Auckland. On Wednesday, Lily Allen announced she had cancelled her show hours before she was due to take the stage.

“To my West End Girls in Auckland, I am so sorry to have to tell you that I have come down with a viral infection and am unable to perform tonight.

“I was really looking forward to seeing you all and am absolutely gutted to be letting you down. For those who travelled all the way here, please accept my apology. All tickets will be refunded and I hope to be able to come back to see you soon. Thank you so much for understanding.”

And Olivia Dean’s concert was delayed for more than 40 minutes because of sound difficulties.

After just three songs, the star had to exit to allow technicians to try to fix the glitches.

But as the wait neared 40 minutes, the crowd started to grow restless.

“I’m disappointed. She sounded fine for the first three songs, so I don’t know why she’s gone off,” one concertgoer said.

“If they cancel, I hope they refund everyone.

“I feel like even if they go on with the show, it’ll be rushed because of the curfew. It’s such a disappointment.”
