Globally leading sports drink brand Powerade has joined forces with New Zealand Football to become the official hydration partner of the All Whites and Ford Football Ferns.
A long-standing supporter of the beautiful game, with strong partnerships with the FIFA World Cup and FIFA Women’s World Cup, Powerade will help fuel Aotearoa New Zealand’s national teams as they perform on the biggest stage.
Powerade has partnered with both teams at an exciting time for the game in New Zealand, with the All Whites set to return to the FIFA World Cup next year in Canada, Mexico, and the USA for the first time in 16 years, and the Ford Football Ferns beginning their journey to qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the sixth consecutive time.
The partnership begins immediately, with Powerade supporting the All Whites as they face Australia’s Socceroos this Tuesday at Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s Go Media Stadium.
James Wear, GM Commercial, Marketing & Communications at New Zealand Football, said:
“This is a really exciting time for the game in Aotearoa New Zealand, so it is great to partner with a major brand, with such a long association with football, ahead of a massive few years.
“We constantly strive to deliver the best for our players on and off the pitch, and by joining with a globally recognised sports partner in Powerade, we are putting ourselves in the best possible position to perform at the top level of the game.”
Kate Watson, National Business Manager – Sponsorship at Coca-Cola Europacfic Partners NZ, said:
“Partnering with New Zealand Football allows us to support Aotearoa’s top footballers as they chase history on the world stage.
“Hydration plays an essential role in elite performance, and Powerade is proud to hydrate both the All Whites and the Ford Football Ferns.
“We’re excited to support the All Whites on their journey to the FIFA World Cup and to stand proudly alongside the Ford Football Ferns as they continue to inspire the next generation of Kiwi athletes.”
