Artificial Intelligence is now holding court in the new thriller “Mercy” starring Chris Pratt.
Timur Bekmambetov’s upcoming film, “Mercy,” has Pratt as an LAPD detective who is accused by an A.I. court of murdering his wife.
The trailer for “Mercy” dropped at New York Comic Con, where we see Pratt’s Detective Raven being put in the hot seat literally. He built a system where accused felons have 90 minutes to prove their innocence, and he’s now being convicted.
He finds himself up against an A.I. judge (Rebecca Ferguson), and he has no idea how this even occurred, and gets help from his partner (Kali Reis), who helps Raven retrace his steps.
In the trailer, you see Ferguson’s judge is on a monitor while Pratt is fastened to an execution chair, to which he pointed out that he was actually strapped in during shooting, creating “a natural claustrophobia,” according to Deadline.
“Mercy” hits theaters on January 26 from Amazon MGM Studios.
