Spending by non-EU citizens at Attica stores rose 9%

Attica department stores recorded a 4% annual increase in sales over the first half of the year to reach 106.3 million euros, with the head of owner Ideal Holdings, Lampros Papakonstantinou, estimating on Thursday that the year will close with turnover close to €240 million.

Notably, despite the geopolitical tensions, the tax-free sales (to non-EU citizens) increased by 9% in January-June year-on-year.

Papakonstantinou dismissed rumors of a takeover of a company belonging to the CVC fund, especially Vivartia, or Delta of the Vivartia Group. Kathimerini understands Ideal Holdings is probing the industrial sector for an acquisition.
