Former Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner is releasing a new memoir, Golden Years, in which he discusses his brief marriage to Theresa Nist.
Gerry said in a new interview that Theresa “should be worried,” hinting at some unflattering reveals in the book.
Golden Years will hit shelves on Nov. 4.
Gerry Turner might have left Bachelor Nation behind, but the drama continues. The first Golden Bachelor lead is preparing to release his memoir, Golden Years, and he has an ominous warning for his ex-wife, Theresa Nist. In a new interview, Gerry said that Theresa “should be worried” about what he’s going to reveal.
Gerry and Theresa met on season 1 of The Golden Bachelor and got married months later on “The Golden Wedding” special. Three months after the ceremony in April of 2024, they separated.
Now Gerry is speaking out, saying he feels he was portrayed as the villain of the breakup, which might explain why he doesn’t seem particularly concerned with how Theresa will respond to the book. In fact, in a new interview with Us Weekly, he said (and I quote), “I’m not worried; she should be worried.”

In one particularly revealing section of Golden Years, Gerry writes about feeling “trapped” before their “Golden Wedding” special, though he told Us Weekly that it was “a momentary truth.” He explained, “I had second thoughts, but I don’t think [they] were exaggerated from anyone’s normal second thoughts.”
When reached for comment, Theresa told Us Weekly, “It makes me very sad to think that he felt empty and trapped. I wish he had said something and just ended it. But at least now I understand why he was so hurtful to me so many times. And I will say this. Those in glass houses should not throw stones. I do wish him all the best.”
Meanwhile, Gerry insists he, too, wishes nothing but happiness for Theresa. “I certainly wish the same to her as I would all of the women and myself, and that she finds her path to her full happiness,” he told Us Weekly. “There’s nothing wrong with embracing a career like she does—maybe that’s her source of happiness,” he continued. “I just wish I would have known that if that’s the case.”
