People living in other countries can now transfer money directly to the MyCash mobile wallet of people in Fiji, as Digicel Fiji expands its money transfer platform through a partnership with Ria, a global leader in money transmission services.
With over 500 agents in Australia and New Zealand, and more than 300 in the USA, this new service offers an alternative to traditional cash collection, as funds are immediately accessible on the recipient’s phone.
Digicel Fiji CEO, Farid Mohammed says the collaboration with Ria makes it easier and more convenient for people around the world to send and receive money.
He says they are empowering communities to bridge the gap between traditional and modern methods of money transfer.
Ria’s Regional Director of Business Development, Steve Peregrino says their partnership with Digicel Pacific is a significant step in their mission to provide the most accessible and efficient money transfer services globally.
He says by enabling direct deposits into the MyCash mobile wallet, they are not only streamlining the payment process but also empowering beneficiaries in Fiji with instant access to their funds, helping to bridge the gap between global remittances and local financial inclusion.
