Kim KardashianSKIMS’ new product has garnered mixed reactions online

Kim Kardashian has released a new product from her clothing line that seems to be making a statement on body hair.

The influencer’s shapewear brand SKIMS revealed Tuesday the Faux Hair Micro String Thong, with a “mix of curly and straight faux hair in twelve different shade variations,” according to the brand’s website. The brand, which has been known to release controversial items, took to Instagram to announce the drop, with a campaign video parodying 1970s game shows.

“Just Dropped: The Ultimate Bush,” the caption reads. “With our daring new Faux Hair Panty, your carpet can be whatever color you want it to be.” Another post from Kardashian‘s brand reads, “Who said the carpet has to match the drapes? Our most shocking panty, ever, is available now.”

The product has garnered mixed reactions online, with one person even joking that they would call 911.

An Instagram user wrote, “Years of laser and here we are….” while another commented, “this is literally insane. who asked for this?”

And the next Instagram user chimed in: “Are we unable to grow our own bush for some reason?”

However, some have applauded the brand’s marketing expertise.

A user commented, “Smart way to bring people to your website, have them laughing, then them ending up buying actual cute stuff they don’t even need. Genius e-commerce team.”

And another said in the same vein, “Boy does the girl know how to market.”

Another SKIMS fan questioned, “Do we wash this in the washer or use shampoo and conditioner lmao.”

Earlier this year, SKIMS launched its first ever face product, the Face Wrap. It supports your jaw and neck and includes velcro closures, and promises a “slimmer, more sculpted jawline” and “reduced puffiness” through overnight compression.

Doctors have, however, stated that there are “no meaningful skin benefits” and “no slimmer jawline from the simple compression.”

The company has also released a bra with fake nipples, and a spin off with fake nipple rings that can be seen through a thin shirt.
