Some win by the returning galloper, now with the Chris Waller stable. He’s a Group 1 winner in waiting and those targets look well and truly in his sights following a dominant win over some fit and handy horses.

There was plenty of hype about this galloper going into his debut and it’s fair to say he exceeded expectations. Strong win and he’s only going to go up from here.

McKenzie Stakes | Rosberg

The hype is real! 💫 Rosberg wins in scintillating style on debut in the McKenzie Stakes. @cmcdonaldracing has another star colt on his hands 🙌

The Valley – Race 8 No. 4 – Desert Lightning – $1300 @ $2.60 (Ladbrokes)

Travelled strongly into the straight after settling just outside the lead and had the job to hold off classy mare Moira. He was able to do so and there was a huge gap back to third.

The Valley – Race 9 No.7 – Baraqiel – $25,000 @ $6 (BetR)

The Valley – Race 9 No. 7 – Baraqiel – $1000 @ $6 (Colossal)

A few anxious moments as Baraqiel was held up and caught looking for a run but he was able to get it up on the inside and he showed a sharp turn of speed to nail Kiwi mare Alabama Lass on the line.

Randwick – Race 1 No. 1 – Denman Star – $5000 @ $3.80 (Neds)

A good steer from James McDonald saw Denman Star get the cash in the Midway. Looked in trouble a few times but poked his head through to score.

Randwick – Race 5 No.13 – Shohisha – $20,000 @ $3.80 (BetR)

It’s the second time David Payne has stepped this girl up from 1100m to a mile and for the second time, she won.

Shohisha too strong! David Payne has a smart mare here 👏@AnnaRoper_pic.twitter.com/xcujUGD0wE

Randwick – Race 8 No.5 – Headwall – $10,000 @ $4.20 (BetR)

Randwick – Race 8 No. 5 – Headwall – $6000 @ $5 (Palmerbet)

Randwick – Race 8 No. 5 – Headwall – $5000 @ $5 (BetR)

Lady Shenandoah was no doubt luckless but Headwall went enormous first-up. Ridden just off the speed and presented with plenty of room in the straight, Headwall let down with the turn of foot of a horse that will be snapped up for The Everest. Lady Shenandoah made it a nervous watch for Headwall backers when she got into the clear but he had a big enough margin to hold her off.

Randwick – Race 9 No. 7 – Pericles – $1000 @ $9.50 (Colossal)

Able to chalk up his second Tramway Stakes in three years, this time for Bjorn Baker and this time in dominant fashion. These Godolphin horses are going super.

Doomben – Race 9 No. 5 – About To Explode – $3000 @ $3.70 (Pointsbet)

Sharp victory in the last at Doomben with this galloper rounding them up from last to win.

How’s that – last to first! 😮💨

About To Explode lives up to his name to give @BenThompson2102 4 winners today at Doomben, and @tonygollan a treble! 💥@BrisRacingClubpic.twitter.com/Ne7rq3qhho

The Valley – Race 1 No.2 – Godtfred Kirk – $20,000 @ Tote SP (BetR)

The Valley – Race 1 No. 2 – Godtfred Kirk – $8000 @ $4.20 (Neds)

He went all right but was just no match for impressive winner Miewa in the opener at The Valley.

Miewa breaks through at start 5 to get us underway @thevalley!

The Valley – Race 9 No. 12 – Alabama Lass – $6000 @ $4 (Neds)

The Valley – Race 9 No. 12 – Alabama Lass – $4000 @ $5 (Pointsbet)

She gave an almighty sight but just wasn’t able to hold off the charge of Baraqiel late. In 10 starts she’s never finished out of the quinella.

The Valley – Race 9 No. 16 – Esha – $1000 @ $6 (Ladbrokes)

The Valley – Race 9 No. 16 – Esha $1000 @ $4.80 (BetR)

She travelled up OK leading into the straight before folding under pressure and finishing out of it.

The Valley – Race 10 No.3 – King Zephyr – $20,000 @ $2.25 (BetR)

The Valley – Race 10 No. 3 – King Zephyr – $9000 @ $2.70 (Neds)

The Valley – Race 10 No. 3 – King Zephyr – $2000 @ $2.80 (Colossal)

Unable to help punters out in the ‘Get Out Stakes’ as the short priced favourite. Finished third to La Fracas, beaten a length.

Randwick – Race 3 No.10 – Spirit Of Wealth – $30,000 $1.70 (BetR)

Randwick – Race 3 No. 10 – Spirit Of Wealth – $10,000 @ $1.95 (Neds)

Randwick – Race 3 No. 10 – Spirit Of Wealth – $2100 @ $1.95 (Ladbrokes)

Randwick – Race 3 No. 10 – Spirit Of Wealth – $2000 @ $2 (Colossal)

Talented mare that was first-up off a lengthy spell and did plenty wrong. Fired up on the way to the barriers and it continued when she was loaded up. Led them up at a decent tempo and knocked up to only beat one home.

Randwick – Race 7 No. 2 – Ceolwulf – $8000 @ $2.15 (BetR)

Randwick – Race 7 No. 2 – Ceolwulf – $8000 @ $2.10 (Neds)

Randwick – Race 7 No. 2 – Ceolwulf – $5000 @ $2.30 (Pointsbet)

Randwick – Race 7 No. 2 – Ceolwulf – $2000 @ $2.10 (Ladbrokes)

He probably didn’t get the tempo to finish off and show the turn of foot we’re used to seeing, but he no doubt went below his best. For a horse that, at his peak, was the best miler in the country, it’s disappointing he couldn’t beat Lindermann and a handful of staying horses.

Lindermann as gutsy as ever to win the Chelmsford 💪

Sir Delius and Vauban 👀🏆 pic.twitter.com/jouO5hGOVL

— 7HorseRacing 🐎 (@7horseracing) September 6, 2025

Randwick – Race 7 No. 5 – Sir Delius – $5000 @ $4.50 (Palmerbet)

Has gone enormous in defeat. The Cup favourite just couldn’t reel in a tough Lindermann but he went very close, despite doing plenty of work in the run.

Randwick – Race 8 No. 4 – Lady Shenandoah – $8000 @ $2.85 (Pointsbet)

Randwick – Race 8 No. 4 – Lady Shenandoah – $4000 @ $2.80 (Neds)

Randwick – Race 8 No. 4 – Lady Shenandoah – $2500 @ $2.80 (Ladbrokes)

Do concede I wasn’t on Lady Shenandoah but I still felt sick watching her go down in the Concorde. There’s not much J-Mac could have done from barrier one over the 1000m. Only got into the clear at the 100m mark and she flew to run second behind Headwall.

Randwick – Race 8 No. 11 – Generosity – $2000 @ $14 (Ladbrokes)

Like her stablemate, she had very little luck in the Concorde. The former West Australian mare never got a clear shot at them and went to the line under a very strong hold.

Randwick – Race 10 No.1 – Point And Shoot – $10,000 @ $3.90 (BetR)

Randwick – Race 10 No. 1 – Point And Shoot – $1000 @ $5.50 (Colossal)

Tickets were ripped up right at the start when this galloper missed the kick by five lengths. Never a winning hope after that.
