A South Waikato road is closed following a serious crash.

Police were called to the two-vehicle crash on State Highway 28/Whites Rd, Putaruru about 5.20am.

The road is closed at both ends and diversions are in place at the SH1 and SH5 intersection, a police statement said.

“Initial
indicators are that there are serious injuries.
