A field of nine has been finalised for the 2025 Cox Plate with favourite Via Sistina drawing gate seven for Chris Waller and James McDonald, while one three-year-old has accepted to run in Nepotism.

Interestingly only one horse is coming off a last start win in Globe, and only three of the field have won a race so far this preparation.

The last three year-old to win the race was Shamus Award in 2013 although northern hemisphere bred State Of Rest was three years and six months when winning in 2021 as a southern hemisphere four-year-old.
