Divorce is twice as hard for a couple who have kids. Because divorce isn’t just about separating from a person, it’s also about disrupting the family unit. And no one resents that more than kids, particularly kids old enough to understand what’s happening. That’s pretty much the case for Sunday Rose, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s oldest daughter, who is 17.
But what has been her reaction to the divorce? Well, to celebrate her mom. On Monday, October 20, Sunday Rose posted a carousel of images taken during the trip to Paris Fashion Week with her mom, including candid pictures of Kidman. The oldest daughter of Kidman and Urban is a model and made her runway debut in the Miu Miu show last fall.

The trip to Fashion Week also included Sunday’s youngest sister, Faith, who is 14.
Star Magazine is reporting that both Kidman’s daughters are firmly on her side during this very hard time. “She’s cried a lot of tears,” a source said about Kidman. “It’s been a horrific couple of weeks.” The outlet also added that, “Sunday and Faith love their dad dearly, but they’re feeling very loyal to their mom right now,” so “they’ve made it their mission to be by her side.”
This is probably due to recent reports about Urban, which indicate he’s not just moved on but that, unlike Kidman, he didn’t want to try to fix the marriage. “The rumor is that he’s with a younger woman in the business,” a “Nashville music industry source told Daily Mail. “It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery.”
People reported in August that Kidman and her daughters have really bonded recently. “While Keith has been away on tour all summer, Nicole and her daughters have been inseparable, spending time together bonding,” they reported. “Now the focus is back to school in Nashville, where Nic has been getting the girls ready for the new year.”
Kidman and Urban married in 2006 and have two children. Kidman filed for divorce on Tuesday, Sept. 30, in Nashville. The couple and their two daughters had lived there since 2007. Kidman is set to be the primary residential parent for Sunday and Faith.
Not that long ago, Sunday gave an interview to Nylon magazine, where she spoke about her family and detailed the rules her parents set when she decided she wanted to be a model. “The first was that I couldn’t explore any kind of fashion work until I was 16, and the second is that school always has to come first, which at first I hated, but I am actually really glad that I have these rules in place because it keeps me in a good mindset.”
And that mindset now includes being a steady presence for her mom, even as the reality of her parents’ divorce is probably also really hard on her. Divorce is sad that way; it makes kids grow up way too fast.
