– Two beachfront homes in Omaha, listed at $15m, may set a new price record.
– The properties, spanning 2268sqm with 52m beachfront, offer potential for renovation or rebuilding.
– The current owners bought the homes in 2011 and 2016, using them for family gatherings.
Two beachfront homes next door to a luxury bach once owned by Sir John Key have hit the market in Omaha, looking for buyers with $15 million to spend.
Ray White listing agent Victoria Turner told OneRoof that the properties at 49 and 51 Success Court would likely set a new price record for the wealthy beach town.
She said the properties have a combined RV of just over $12m but are worth much more.

Turner has a particular fondness for the bach at 51 Success Court, as it was the first property she ever sold, back in 2016 when she was a rookie agent.
“When I get a beachfront property, I always start with the neighbours. So [the owner of 49] was one of the first people I rang as soon as the listing [for 51] was signed,” she said.
They leapt at the chance to buy, paying $3.1m for the five-bedroom home (they bought the four-bedroom bach at 49 Success Court for $2.775m in 2011).

The two properties span 2268sqm, 52m of which is beachfront. “That is the widest lawn in Omaha. It is going to be an astute purchaser who buys this, as adjoining properties rarely come up for sale at the same time,” Turner said.
“I would call them the real Omaha coastal compounds, on that golden pristine beachfront. At 49 and 51, you can enjoy the two houses as they are, but there’s potential to renovate or to rebuild to suit your family.”
The last time two neighbouring Omaha properties hit the market together was at the end of 2023, and they sold for $12.5m to a wealthy Auckland businessman. OneRoof understands that the buyer has since carried out extensive renovations and is busily creating a legacy beach compound for his family.
Turner’s listings are next to the bach that former Prime Minister Sir John Key famously sold in 2018 to former ANZ chief executive David Hisco. The $3.1m sale made the headlines, as did the $6.3m Hisco got for the bach in 2023.

OneRoof interviewed one of the owners of 49 and 51 Success Court this week, and he relayed the story of how he and his wife ended up buying in Omaha 14 years ago. They had a new baby and a five-year-old, and they were on the hunt for a holiday home that their kids could enjoy as they grew older.
They managed to secure 49 Success Court before it hit the open market, in a deal that included all the furniture. The three-bedroom house came with a one-bedroom sleepout and had been freshly painted so the young family could move straight in.
Five years later, when Turner approached them about buying the bach next door, they debated whether or not it was the right move. The vendor told OneRoof that his wife was keener than he was and had successfully argued that they could use the house to host their extended family and visiting guests. “It depended on who was cooking on the barbecue as to where we’d congregate,” he said.
“One year, our daughter had about 15 girlfriends in one of the houses. We would max out at 20, maybe 25 people,” he said.
As hoped, the children became sea babies, learning to swim and surf, crabbing and looking for pipis, while their parents golfed at the club. “The kids would be cruising around the bike tracks, on the walkways going to see friends. Some kids cruised around in golf carts. It is a pretty family-friendly place.”
With their daughter leaving home for university and a son who is deeply involved in competitive rowing, the family is no longer getting up to Omaha as much as they used to.
“It is a pretty tough call. I am nervous about selling them, but at this stage in our lives, I do not think we will be buying [a beach house] again until we are older,” he said. “It will be really difficult.”
And yes, Turner confirmed she was already talking to neighbours as the “jungle drums were beating” well before the listing went live.
