Ashley Tisdale opened up about the pressures of living in Los Angeles and choosing not to go on one of the many weight-loss drugs currently available.

The former Disney Channel star, who assured readers she is fully in support of anyone who chooses to go the Ozempic or Wegovy route, explained the evolution of GLP-1s in Hollywood ― and why she’s not on one herself.

“A few years ago, almost nobody in LA would admit to using Ozempic,” Tisdale wrote in her blog on Thursday about one of the most popular GLP-1s on the market. “It was all very mysterious and nobody was super-open about it,” she continued.

“To be clear: I have absolutely ZERO judgment toward anyone using Ozempic or other similar medications. Zero,” she said, adding that the drugs are “life-changing” and “truly transformative” for people.

“But when I see people who are already thin signing up for it, I can’t help but think of how body trends keep shifting,” Tisdale said. “We keep moving the goalposts and it’s exhausting. What makes it harder is the nonstop online commentary.”

The actor said that all of the internet critiques leave people feeling like “no matter what they do, they’ll be judged.”

“You really can’t win. Which is why, at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is how you feel in your own body,” she said. And though she’s “been tempted” to try the weight-loss drugs, she’s “decided that Ozempic isn’t the right move for me.”

“I’m not against Western medicine by any means, but I like to take a holistic view of weight, which is so deeply tied to hormones, sleep, food, mental health, genetics, and stress,” she said. “And sometimes autoimmune issues, which I personally live with.”

Tisdale joins a chorus of other celebrities who have decided to stay away from weight-loss drugs, or tried Ozempic and found it didn’t quite agree with them.

James Corden revealed last year that, while he’d been on Ozempic for weight loss, he’d been unsuccessful in his efforts to actually drop weight.

“I tried Ozempic, and it won’t be surprising to you when you look at me now, that it didn’t really work,” the former late night show host said on his podcast. “I tried it for a bit, and then what I realized was I was like, ‘Oh no, nothing about my eating has anything to do with being hungry.’ All this does is make you feel not hungry.”

Amy Schumer also revealed that she’d tried the drug, but found it didn’t work for her for other reasons.

“I was one of the people that felt like sick. I couldn’t, like, play with my son,” the “I Feel Pretty” actor said during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” back in 2023.

But for those people who do go on the drugs, she urged them to be honest.

“Everyone’s like, ‘Oh, smaller portions!’” she joked. “Like, shut the fuck up. You’re on Ozempic. Or one of those things.”
