Intense rains from Tropical Storm Melissa have killed at least four people in the Caribbean as the storm begins to intensify.
Melissa’s top winds strengthened to 65 miles (105 kilometers) per hour as it drifted 215 miles southeast of Kingston, Jamaica, the US National Hurricane Center said in an advisory at 5 p.m. New York time. The storm, which has already triggered deadly landslides amid heavy rain in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, is forecast to grow into a Category 4 major hurricane by Sunday.
