Adrien Brody has been dating his girlfriend, Georgina Chapman, for five years, but she is still reportedly dealing with the financial fallout from her marriage to Harvey Weinstein.
The fashion designer might lose her beloved New York City condo in the West Village that she paid for in cash in 2009. In 2022, she and her brother, Edward Chapman, who is CEO of her company, Marchesa, took out a $2.5 million loan against the property in 2022, per The Real Deal. Unfortunately, she defaulted on the loan in November 2024.

In addition, Chapman also owes $7,000 to her condo board for HOA fees, per the New York Post, and she owes “more than $1.4 million in unpaid rent and utilities” at Marchesa’s former headquarters on the fourth and 17th floors. According to the outlet, they moved out of the upper level, but are being evicted from the lower level.

Chapman lived a luxurious life with her ex-husband when he was one of the most powerful players in Hollywood. After his sexual assault convictions, “Harvey’s accounts were frozen and swallowed by lawsuits,” and Chapman was not able to retrieve her “$15-20 million” divorce settlement from the disgraced entertainment mogul, per Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack.
“Harvey’s empire was already collapsing,” a source explained. “By the time she filed, the fortune had evaporated.” It was well known in the fashion industry that Chapman had been “quietly downsizing, selling assets, cutting staff” while Brody reportedly helped her and her two children with Weinstein “stay afloat.”
Her brand, once the coveted brand among A-list stars, hoping to get in Weinstein’s good graces, suffered tremendously after his arrest. During the crisis in October 2017, a source told People that her main focus was Marchesa.
“She seems very focused on Marchesa. Marchesa is her baby, too. It’s a family business. She has several friends working for Marchesa, and also her brother. She needs to keep the business going. She will do what she can to keep her personal life away from Marchesa,” the insider revealed.
Scarlett Johansson was the first major celebrity to give Chapman her seal of approval at the 2018 Met Gala, which paved the way for her red carpet designs to return. Still, the damage was done to the brand, and it appears that Chapman has struggled to financially recover ever since.
