The Gist
Emma Stone spoke on a panel onstage during a screening of Bugonia in California on October 25.
She wore an oversized white knit sweater paired with a tiny white silk miniskirt.
Her hair, which is growing out after she shaved it for the film, was styled in a tousled side parted bob.
Emma Stone just gave her own take on a classic fall outfit formula: the oversized sweater on top and the itty bitty skirt on the bottom. Think of it as a chic version of the classic, Princess Diana-loved sweatshirt-plus-biker shorts combo. Stone’s version of this iconic autumnal silhouette came with a few unexpected touches.
The actress, who appeared onstage in a panel following a BAFTA screening of Bugonia in West Hollywood on October 25, served up an all-white version of the look. On the top, she rocked an oversized ribbed knit sweater that was so big and so cozy, the sleeves came over her hands. The bottom half was a very different story—she paired the sweater with an itty bitty white silk miniskirt with lace trim.

Stone finished off the look with a blue beaded necklace with a pearl pendant. Her hair, which she’s been growing out ever since she shaved it for her new film last year, is now at chin length bob length. She wore it in a deep millennial side part in tousled waves.

Stone was, surprisingly, pretty happy to go “straight-up bald.” “The first shower when you’ve shaved your head? Oh my God, it’s amazing,” she told Vogue.
Stone has been on quite the fashion streak as she does the rounds with her film Bugonia, her sixth collaboration with director Yorgos Lanthimos. Earlier this week, she appeared in a lime green top held together with string paired with a matching silk skirt in an homage to the iconic look worn by Gwyneth Paltrow in Great Expectations. At the New York premiere of Bugonia, she opted for a sheer optical illusion slipdress. And, for the London premiere, it was a yellow number.
