Bluefin LED has launched the Mini IYS, a compact new gateway for smart lighting control in the marine sector, with Raymarine becoming the first company to integrate the technology into its products.

Designed and manufactured in the UK, the Mini IYS allows owners to control Bluefin LED’s underwater lighting directly through Raymarine Axiom chartplotters. The system connects via a single Ethernet cable, offering a clean, user-friendly interface that simplifies installation and enhances on-board efficiency.

“Owners want a simple, elegant way to control their lights through the systems they already trust,” said Chris Harris-Marsh, technical director at Bluefin LED. “With Raymarine as our first collaboration, the Mini IYS delivers exactly that.”

The system is fully compatible with Bluefin LED’s Pro-Link P4, P6, and P26 Colour Change Series, as well as third-party DMX512-controllable lights. The first release supports Raymarine Axiom MFDs operating on the latest LightHouse OS, providing seamless integration across a range of on-board systems.

“The LightHouse operating of Axiom chartplotters offers seamless integration across a wide range of marine devices, and we are delighted to add Bluefin LED’s lighting solutions to our catalogue of Axiom compatible apps,” said Darren Boden, global product manager at Raymarine. “Axiom and Bluefin LED owners can now experience how easy and intuitive smart lighting control can be.”

Unlike other systems that require additional applications or complex configurations, the Mini IYS uses a secure, web-based HTML5 interface, enabling control from any device with a web browser. It requires no downloads or proprietary software and has been designed to be easily expandable, supporting future integrations with above-water fixtures and broader onboard systems.

Developed entirely in-house, the Mini IYS reflects Bluefin LED’s commitment to reliability, innovation, and secure supply chains. It can be installed by OEMs, dealers, or skilled DIY users, offering flexibility across vessel types.

With further integrations planned, the Mini IYS marks an important step towards smarter, simpler lighting control for both professional and leisure marine environments. By collaborating with Raymarine, Bluefin LED reinforces its position at the forefront of intelligent on-board lighting technology.
