
RØDE has announced the Wireless Micro Camera Kit, a new addition to its compact audio lineup designed for DSLR, mirrorless, and smartphone creators. The kit builds on the success of the original Wireless Micro system, extending its use beyond mobile content creation to professional camera setups.
RØDE is an Australian manufacturer of professional audio equipment headquartered in Sydney. Founded over 50 years ago, the company designs and builds its products in-house, with large-scale production facilities. RØDE is part of The Freedman Group, which also includes brands such as Mackie, Lectrosonics, APHEX, Event, and SoundField.

The Wireless Micro Camera Kit includes two transmitters with built-in microphones, a smartphone receiver, and a compact on-camera receiver featuring a 1.1-inch AMOLED screen. The system supports both 3.5mm TRS and USB-C outputs for direct connection to a wide range of cameras and devices.
For iOS users, RØDE’s Direct Connect feature allows wireless operation through the RØDE Capture app via Bluetooth. The camera receiver also includes a cold-shoe mount for quick attachment and an intuitive interface for on-the-go adjustments.

Each transmitter uses an omnidirectional microphone and RØDE’s GainAssist technology, which automatically balances input levels to prevent clipping. Integrated and external windshields help reduce plosive and wind noise, ensuring clean recordings in outdoor or dynamic environments.
The system’s charging case provides two full recharges, extending total runtime up to 21 hours. Plug-in power detection automatically powers the receiver on and off when connected to a camera, improving efficiency during shoots.
Availability and pricing
The Wireless Micro Camera Kit represents the second generation of RØDE’s camera receiver design. The company will continue to offer redemption options for customers who purchased the previous USB-C or Lightning configurations before October 30, 2025. The kit is priced at US$149 and ships globally.
