Nike's Mind 001 and Mind 002

This week on Dezeen, we showcased Nike’s Mind trainers, which were “designed from the brain down” to improve athletes’ concentration and focus.

Described by Nike as the company’s “first neuroscience-based footwear”, the shoes have distinctive soles with 22 bright-orange foam nodes, which move when the wearer walks or runs to send stimulation to the brain.

“These are the first shoes designed from the brain down, not the ground up,” Nike chief science officer Matthew Nurse told Dezeen.
