The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit focusing on hospital patient safety, has released its hospital safety grades for the second time in 2025, according to a news release, with Lehigh Valley health facilities continuing the trend of scoring well.

The biannual study grades hospitals primarily on the rates of three healthcare-associated infections: methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), central line-associated bloodstream infections and catheter-associated urinary tract infections.

Both St. Luke’s University Health Network and Lehigh Valley Health Network facilities in and around the region earned “A” grades from the study, with a few graded “B.”

LVHN regional hospitals, now part of Jefferson Health, earning a fall 2025 “A” were: Dickson City, Hazleton, Pocono and Schuylkill.

Earning “B” grades in fall 2025 were: Cedar Crest, Hecktown Oaks and Muhlenberg.

The regional St. Luke’s hospital campuses earning a fall 2025 “A” were: Bethlehem, Allentown, Anderson, Carbon, Easton, Monroe, Miners, Sacred Heart, Upper Bucks, Geisinger St. Luke’s and Warren.

St. Luke’s Grand View, which joined the network in July, received a “B” grade.
