Mykelti Brown Padron is drawing a line in the sand when it comes to her father, Kody Brown. During a recent appearance on the Pop Psych YouTube show alongside her husband Tony Padron, the 29-year-old opened up about the status of their relationship and what is preventing them from fully reconciling.
“Every time I see him on Special Forces, I’m like, ‘I should call him,’” said the mother-of-three. “That’s good stuff. Then I’m like, but if I do [call him,] it’s going to open a whole conversation. And do I want to talk about everything? So right now we don’t have a very deep relationship. We’re not talking, but we’re not not talking.” Mykelti went on to reveal that Kody, 56, who practiced polygamy with Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, Christine Brown (Mykelti’s mother), and Robyn Brown until separating from each of his first three wives between 2021 and 2022, has reached out to her as recently as right before he left to film the grueling reality competition show Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, which is currently airing Thursdays on Fox.

“He’s been the one extending,” said Mykelti. “But its hard because with me I’m a package deal. You gotta treat my whole family nice, you gotta treat my kids nice. You gotta talk to all of us, you can’t just have me.” Kody has strained relationships with many of Mykelti’s 17 siblings, and she said she refuses to refrain from asking him about the status of his bonds with his various children, which he doesn’t like.
“I’m going to ask him, ‘Hey what’s going on with you and Truely? What’s going on with you and Ysabel? What’s going on with you and Savannah?’ And he’s going to be like, ‘I want to have a relationship with you right now. My relationship with them is separate. My relationship with you is with you.’ And that’s kind of where he’s at. He wants to figure out each relationship individually as they go and I want to be like, ‘Well why can’t we all just get together be happy and love each other?’”
