Analysis: The Government’s surprise reforms to the carbon market have seen the price of pollution drop from $52 to $33, before recovering slightly to between $41 and $44 over the past couple of weeks.

The turmoil in the market – November 5 saw the second-largest single day drop on record – has prompted rare responses from the Minister of Climate Change and the Ministry for the Environment.
