Following a 48-33 defeat to France in the end-of-year Test at the Stade de France on Saturday, here are our player ratings for the Wallabies.

Backs

15 Max Jorgensen: Has had a quiet tour but certainly knows how to finish and he did it with aplomb in the second period. Jorgensen’s had few chances to show his class this month, but with the one opportunity the youngster got on Saturday, he scored a brilliant individual try. 7

14 Harry Potter: You shouldn’t really be surprised by Louis Bielle-Biarrey’s pace but Potter seemed to as he gave the Frenchman too much space. It was a brilliant try but he was allowed far too much room. 5

13 Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii: Finished an underwhelming tour with another performance which failed to ignite. The Wallabies are not getting the best out of the exciting back at the moment and it says a lot that he was taken off early. 5

12 Len Ikitau: A typical Ikitau display with the hard working centre always giving Australia front foot ball. His partnership with Suaalii has not fired on this tour but the Exeter Chiefs man has always stepped up. 7

11 Dylan Pietsch: Looked a real prospect after impressing during the British and Irish Lions series, but it’s not quite happened for him since and he struggled against France. 5

10 Tane Edmed: As harsh as it might seem, Edmed just isn’t good enough for Test rugby at the moment. The fly-half might eventually get there but Joe Schmidt and the Wallabies have harmed their chances by treating James O’Connor so abysmally this year. 4

9 Jake Gordon: Like a lot of his backline team-mates, Gordon has not been in the best form, but he had a good first half before fading in the second as Les Bleus took control. 6

Forwards

8 Harry Wilson (c): Signalled the Wallabies’ intent with a fine break through the middle before contributing further to a good Wallabies display but was replaced in the second period. 7

7 Fraser McReight: Finished a fine season with another excellent effort as he carried hard and defended well, making life difficult for France at the breakdown. 7

Springboks player ratings: Malcolm Marx spearheads ‘sheer massacre’ as Ireland choked into submission

6 Tom Hooper: Part of a good loose trio who put in a shift. Hooper was once again physical in the closer exchanges and is another to complete a superb campaign on a personal level with a good performance. 7

5 Jeremy Williams: Lineout struggled but he put in a shift, as he always does. Him and nick Frost generally combine pretty well in the second-row, but they perhaps lack the physicality of the other top lock duos. 6

4 Nick Frost : Similar to Williams, Frost will always give his all, while his athleticism allows him to make an impact in the loose, but the set-piece was subpar this weekend. 6

3 Taniela Tupou: Was prominent with ball in hand even if his carries didn’t always yield the reward he would like, but there was the odd scrummaging issue. 6

2 Matt Faessler: Scored two tries but the lineout was a real issue and they missed Billy Pollard in that area. The set-piece has been a constant issue for Faessler this year. 5

1 Angus Bell: Brilliant from the loosehead, whose incredible individual try was the highlight of the first half. The rampaging prop was absolutely magnificent with ball in hand as the Wallabies continually tested that French defence. 8

Replacements: Rob Valetini gave them more heft in the carry while Filipo Daugunu was very impressive after coming on for Suaalii but, all in all, it was a mixed bag. Allan Alaalatoa continued the good work of Tupou but there was a costly error from Carlo Tizzano. 6
