Timezone said the Central Mall location was easily accessible and welcoming to both locals and tourists.
The 800sq m site formerly housed the mall’s Countdown supermarket.
Timezone general manager James Woodbridge said he was excited to launch the venue in Rotorua.

There would be a curated selection of dance and beat games, including exclusive titles such as DDR Gold, alongside favourites such as maimai and Taiko no Tatsujin.
Motorsport enthusiasts could take the driver’s seat in Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 6, a high-speed racing experience that delivered pulse-pounding action and competitive thrills, he said.
The Prize Vault would have rewards for players with earned tickets.
Opening day celebrations would include exclusive giveaways to the first 300 guests and entertainment.
Customers with current Powercards can use them at the new Timezone Rotorua venue and locations nationwide.
Planning for the new venue began last year.
CityFitness was expected to join Timezone at the former Countdown site next year, the Rotorua Daily Post reported this month.
Rotorua Central Mall FreshChoice was officially opened in the mall on November 4.
FreshChoice executive general manager Tim Cartwright said at the opening that the supermarket was creating up to 50 new jobs, using a “locals first” approach.
The supermarket is on the site of the old Smiths City store, which closed in January.
