Among the information that will be asked upfront include:

Why the role is needed
The size of the business
How many New Zealanders are currently employed (for large organisations this can be approximated)

“Providing this information upfront helps ensure faster and more efficient processing,” the agency said.

“It also gives our processing staff a clearer understanding of the business context and the rationale for the role, supporting more efficient and informed assessments.”

Job check stage

The job check is a key stage in the AEWV scheme designed to ensure that positions employers wish to fill with migrant workers cannot be filled by suitable New Zealanders.

It is also INZ’s way to assess whether a job is genuine, pays at least the market rate, and offers suitable terms and conditions.
