Stephen Colbert has secured the most sought-after guest in late night.

Taylor Swift will guest on CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this Wednesday, December 10, Colbert announced via Instagram.

Swift is currently promoting The End of an Era, the six-episode, behind-the-scenes docuseries of her seismic Eras Tour, which streams on Disney+ beginning Friday, December 12.

The marks only the pop star’s second appearance on Colbert’s program, having previously sat for an interview—remotely—in April 2021, during the show’s COVID-era episodes. Appearing on the heels of the release of Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Swift at the time had fun with Colbert, jokingly revealing that he was the inspiration for her song “Hey Stephen.”

Booking Swift is a major coup for any late-night show. While it’s rare that any guest manages to move the needle ratings-wise, she is a rare exception to the rule. Her October 6 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon scored the NBC talker its biggest audience for a regular episode in months, attracting 1.77 million total viewers. Two days later, her “Tay/kover” of NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers increased that show’s audience, attracting 993,000 viewers.

Both of those NBC shows opted to devote most of their episodes to Swift, and Colbert appears to be following suit. Swift is currently scheduled to be the sole guest for Thursday night’s Late Show.
